Why we started TrustProperty

The Kenyan diaspora sends billions of dollars home every year. A significant share of that goes into property — or at least, that's the intention. Too often, it goes into the pockets of fraudulent brokers, unregistered developers, and sellers who disappear after receiving a deposit.

Remote property buying in Kenya is plagued by the same problems: you can't visit easily, you can't verify documents yourself, and you have no way to know whether the person you're dealing with is legitimate. The result is that many diaspora Kenyans either lose money or simply don't invest at all — not because the opportunities aren't there, but because the trust infrastructure isn't.

TrustProperty was founded to fix that. We are a dedicated matching and verification service, not a listing portal. We screen opportunities before they appear on our platform, match you to properties that fit your specific criteria, and offer independent verification reports so you can commit to a purchase with your eyes open.

Before you sign anything, our independent verification service digs into titles, approvals, developer track records, and contract terms on your behalf.

How we make money — and why it matters

We believe trust requires transparency about incentives. Here's exactly how we're compensated.

Matching service — commission from developer/seller

When you complete a purchase through TrustProperty, we earn a placement commission from the developer or seller. This is how most property agencies work. We tell you this upfront because it matters: it means we have a financial interest in you completing a transaction. That's why our independent screening process is critical — we only list properties we genuinely believe in, not everything that offers us a commission.

Verification service — fee paid directly by you

Our verification reports are paid for directly by you, the buyer. We do not receive commissions from developers or sellers for these reports. This is deliberate — it is the only way our findings can be genuinely independent. If a verification uncovers a problem and you walk away from a deal, we still get paid. Our incentive is your confidence, not your commitment.
